Title: August Author of the Month
Alan Gratz is a well-known American author born on January 27, 1972, and is now fifty-two years old. He has a wife and child. His wife's name is Wendi Gratz, and his daughter's is Jo Gratz, and I bet. They read his book all the time. Alan went to the University of Tennessee. Alan Gratz has 20 best-selling novels and, in total, 36 published books, which include Ground Zero, Prisoner B-3087, allies, Two Degrees, and many other fantastic Novels. My favorite book is Prisoner B-3087 because of how interesting the story was. It also highlighted a lot of key historical details.
I picked Alan because of two reasons. When I first read Ground Zero and Prisoner B-3087, it was hard for me to put them down because of how he wrote them. He focuses on different characters in different timelines and locations. At the end of the novel, all of their stories come together and match up, and all of them are liked together. That was really impressive because that was the first time I saw an author do that, and I enjoyed the characters.
Secondly, I Picked him for the author of the month spot because of how he writes his historical fiction novels. He makes them funny at some point and also very, extremely sad, and I really enjoy reading his books. He is able to get a historical event like September 9/11 or the Holocaust, and he is able to progress and write the story with sometimes fictional characters and sometimes real characters. After I read Prisoner B-3087, I was shocked to find out that Jack Greuner was a real person and that Alan used his writing skills to tell a story that was about to fade away from history. Meanwhile, he also makes the book very meaningful and interesting. I like that he picks historical events like Pearl Harbor and World War Two and teaches the young readers about the events and what people had to go through to live their lives. This is very important for authors to write about because when the people who went through all these events die, that's it! All the stories and experiences will be gone for good, and the future generation won't know the problems and mistakes that caused the problems to happen, and they will repeat them—leading to wars and other bad events. These stores have to be told to prevent this. Alan Gratz is doing the whole world a favor by writing historical fiction novels, and that is why I chose him as my author of the month.
